Category Manager

• Leading the development, implementation and ongoing management of procurement category strategies for CIB at a global level.
• Leading end to end planning and execution of sourcing projects, including requirements gathering, commercial and contractual negotiation and securing internal endorsement.
• Developing and maintaining a global stakeholder network in a complex and dynamic business environment.
• Understanding the internal dynamics of the supply base and driving business outcomes with subject matter expertise.
• Monitoring the supplier market to identify opportunities from new product offerings or market shifts.
• Leading or supporting the creation and maintenance of a pipeline of projects to achieve savings targets.
• Playing a role in the continuous development and improvement of the HSBC procurement team.
• Monitoring buying channel compliance and driving corrective action.

Key requirements:

• Experienced in Technology sourcing
• Ability to articulate, influence and translate strategic objectives into effective category strategies
• Strong interpersonal and commercial skills with proven ability to build relationships
• Background in leading high value, complex negotiations of IT Contracts
• Robust understanding of third party contract frameworks
• Results orientated with ability to navigate complex processes
• Robust understanding of the financial services industry
• Experience in developing and maintaining a global stakeholder network

Nice to have:

• Technology Category Management experience
• Software sourcing experience, including On-premise and SaaS for trading and brokerage platforms
