Senior Java Software Developer

Responsibilities:

• Develop mission-critical emergency call handling software end to end, including design, implementation, testing, delivery and maintenance.
• Extend the capabilities of the mission-critical platform and enhance existing technologies.
• Work in agile teams using DevOps culture and a continuous delivery approach.
• Identify and reduce technical debt, refactor code, contribute to architecture and support complex technical tasks.
• Provide maintenance in a 24/7 support model.

Key requirements:

• Hands-on expert software developer and technical leader or key technical contributor, able to move between teams and work independently.
• 5+ years of experience with Java or other languages and a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.
• Experience with microservices or distributed systems and REST APIs; analytical decision-making, architecture, refactoring and technical debt reduction.
• Ability to coach and mentor others and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences. English sufficient for communication with peers and customers in North America.

Must have:

• Java, Kubernetes or an alternative, Docker or an alternative, and cloud experience with AWS or Azure.
• Automated testing, messaging systems, observability and monitoring, Angular and networking knowledge.
• Related technologies include Kotlin, Spring Boot, Quarkus, GitHub, Azure DevOps, ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana, Redis, PostgreSQL, NGINX, TypeScript, JavaScript, Selenium and Playwright.

Nice to have:

• SIP, RTP, WebRTC, MSRP and GStreamer experience.
