Senior Java Backend Engineer

We are looking for candidates to help develop our internal IT Automation Portal. The portal connects business teams across all locations with tools and capabilities to manage their IT services. We’re looking for people with a strong technology background, experience with Java and other programming languages and an interest in working in a dynamic, technologically diverse environment.

What you’ll do

• Design and build software with a strong focus on user experience, sharing your expertise and best practices across the team
• Ensure adherence to engineering standards while delivering and supporting scalable data infrastructure and architecture
• Develop internal and external applications with attention to usability and intuitive interfaces
• Implement robust security measures across systems, networks and services
• Automate processes and establish a reliable digital environment to deliver high-quality code and data consistently
• Support incident resolution as part of the DevOps team and ensure service resilience and recovery objectives are met

Skills:

• Expert-level Java/Spring Boot skills, plus strong experience with Kubernetes and Docker
• Hands-on with tools like HashiCorp Vault, GitHub, Jira, Jenkins, Maven, Groovy, Ansible
• Deep understanding of API standards (REST, Swagger/OpenAPI 3.0, OAuth2), microservices and Kong API Gateway
• Solid Agile background (Scrum, TDD) and experience in CI/CD pipelines
• Strong monitoring/alerting experience (AppDynamics, Splunk) and good knowledge of infrastructure (Linux, networks, storage)
• Up-to-date on cloud security and data protection regulations
• Ownership of engineering quality, with a drive to innovate and mentor others
