- Serve as daily thought partner on complex strategic decisions, challenge assumptions, pressure test strategies, provide objective perspective
- Synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights
- Help the CTO think through options, trade-offs, and implications before major decisions
- Facilitate quarterly OKR planning and reviews across engineering
- Identify gaps, synergies, and strategic opportunities across the organization
- Prepare Board presentations on engineering strategy, portfolio performance, organizational health
- Draft strategic memos, executive summaries, decision documents for CEO and executive team
- Optimize CTO's time toward highest-value activities: strategy, vision, customers, external relationships
- Shield CTO from operational noise by resolving issues proactively
- Ensure CTO is prepared and effective in every critical meeting
- Coordinate response to major customer escalations requiring engineering intervention
- Act as chief problem solver for high-priority, high-complexity issues
- Build organizational muscle memory by documenting learnings and playbooks
- Plan and facilitate SLT meetings - set agendas aligned to strategic priorities, prepare pre-reads, ensure clear outcomes
- Build SLT effectiveness - improve decision-making, communication, conflict resolution
