Technical Lead

YOU WILL

• Lead the Infrastructure (DBA + Unix/Linux) team delivering operational and engineering outcomes for critical services and vendor-underpinned platforms.
• Own team delivery end-to-end: demand intake, prioritisation, execution, and reporting.
• Drive improvements in monitoring/alerting and performance across infrastructure and databases.
• Establish and uphold engineering and operational standards (documentation, peer review, quality controls, runbooks, change practices) and measure outcomes to improve team performance.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching to build capability and uplift engineers into a high-performing infrastructure function.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement across the team.

MUST HAVE

• 3+ years leading engineers/technical specialists and providing technical direction in an enterprise environment.
• Proven experience transforming a team into a high-performing function.
• Strong DBA (Oracle & Postgres) and/or Unix/Linux Skills
• Proven experience maintaining highly available, low-latency systems in a regulated industry (preferably banking, fintech, or insurance).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (performance troubleshooting, stability, capacity, incident analysis).
• Fluency in written and spoken English; comfortable working in a multi-cultured/global environment.
• Working experience in Agile methodologies.
• Ability to work independently and within a diverse team environment.
• Strong documentation, collaboration, and ownership mindset.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with monitoring/observability tooling and practices (e.g., AppDynamics, Grafana, Splunk, OpenTelemetry or equivalents).
• Understanding of financial services compliance and risk management requirements
