Senior Scala Developer

• Designing, developing, and enhancing backend services using Scala
• Optimizing the performance, scalability, and reliability of large-scale applications
• Investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving complex technical issues affecting production systems
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify bottlenecks and implement effective solutions
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of engineering practices and code quality
• Supporting knowledge sharing and mentoring less experienced engineers

Key requirements:

• 5+ years of commercial experience in Scala backend development
• Strong experience building and maintaining scalable backend applications
• Solid background in system performance tuning and optimization
• Practical experience using AI-powered assistants (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor)
• Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues
• Strong understanding of backend engineering best practices and software design principles
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Good command of English (min. B2)
• Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required

Nice to have:

• Experience applying GenAI in a structured way within the SDLC (workflows, prompt patterns, tool integrations)
• Familiarity with emerging AI-driven practices (agent-based workflows, AI-augmented development)
