Go Developer

Andersen is hiring a Go Developer to build a global digital platform and scalable backend for the insurance and assistance industry.

Our client is a global financial and protection services firm delivering diverse solutions.

The project builds a global digital platform for insurance and assistance (travel, auto, health), delivering scalable, reliable services that enhance customer experience and operations.

Responsibilities:

• Build and evolve a real-time cross-selling platform with live data flows and personalized offers in insurance. 
• Own the backend for multiple user-facing apps, advancing a gRPC-based microservices architecture. 
• Design and maintain REST and gRPC APIs for core platforms and third-party services (risk scoring, KYC, payments). 
• Model and manage transactional data in PostgreSQL (policies, claims, customer records) with audit trails. 
• Implement event-driven workflows using RabbitMQ or Kafka for claims, policy updates, and notifications. 
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests, focusing on monetary calculations and claims/premium accuracy. 
• Instrument services with Grafana/Prometheus; monitor critical flows to preempt issues. 
• Contribute to code reviews and architectural decisions; emphasize scalability, availability, and resilience in Agile/Scrum.

Must-haves: 

• 5+ years commercial development including 3+ years Go in production.
• Computer Science degree.
• Implementing AI in teams.
• Experience of working in fintech/banking domans with complex integrations. 
• Concurrency: goroutines/channels; microservices with gRPC.
• Experience with containerizing and deploying backend services.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL (schema design, query optimization, database migrations).
• RabbitMQ/Kafka for event-driven architectures.
• Experience designing and implementing REST APIs.
• Practical experience writing unit and integration tests for backend services.
• Experience instrumenting services with Grafana and Prometheus, including metrics collection, monitoring, and alerting.
• Experience designing scalable, highly available systems capable of handling high-throughput, real-time workloads.
• Active participation in code reviews, with a strong focus on code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Fault-tolerant design, idempotency, SLA considerations.
• Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate. 

Nice to have

• Experience in insurance and regulated domains; familiarity with GDPR/PCI DSS; understanding of policies, underwriting, and claims lifecycle.
