Senior / Lead Automation Engineer

• Engineering, integration and delivery of subsea production control system solutions: hardware, software, PLC/SCADA, HMI, industrial communication, system integration
• Development, maintenance, troubleshooting of PLC and SCADA applications: creating functions from scratch, source control, code quality via engineering best practices
• Preparing and reviewing key technical deliverables: System FDS, software requirements, design documents, system architecture, control narratives, interface specs, project/design reqs and test procedures
• Ensuring engineering delivery aligned with contract specs, client expectations, local regulations, industry standards, e.g., API 17F, IEC, ISO
• Supporting system testing, troubleshooting, optimisation, standardisation of automation solutions across projects
• Contributing to design reviews, risk assessments, innovation workshops, technical reviews for quality, safety, efficiency, product differentiation
• Contributing to NPI and R&D: evaluation of emerging technologies, prototyping, product qualification, field trials and analytical tools for product development
• Collaborating with global and cross-functional teams, providing technical input for project plans, progress reporting and travel to company/client sites as needed

Key requirements:

• Experience with Oil & Gas subsea production control systems (offshore/subsea environment)
• Experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT (CodeSys-based environment acceptable)
• Practical experience with Ignition SCADA — design, development, deployment
• Proven track record of leading, delivering complex automation software projects end-to-end, covering SDLC — from requirements to design, implementation, testing, handover

Nice to have:

• Experience with PLC and HMI/SCADA technologies, e.g. Siemens, ABB, Schneider, Rockwell
• Experience with industrial communication protocols, e.g. Modbus TCP, OPC UA, Ethernet/IP, CAN, OPC
• Understanding of software development methodologies, object-oriented design, source control, code quality
• Experience preparing and reviewing requirements, design specs, interface specs, test requirements, technical documentation
• Knowledge of subsea control modules, EPU, MCS, hydraulic/electrical distribution systems, or similar architecture
• Troubleshooting, communication, delivery skills: system-level debugging, report writing, stakeholder cooperation, working with global teams
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
• Travel to and work at client/company sites as required
