Job Description

Role: Senior Back-end Engineer (Node.js) — remote in Poland. Join a core technical charter building the next‑generation quoting platform that powers Hippo’s pre-bind experience and drives growth.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement backend services and APIs (Node.js/TypeScript).
  • Architect interactions with databases and third‑party APIs to support real‑time decisioning.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering and business teams to deliver end‑to‑end features.
  • Balance maintenance of existing systems with development of new, scalable solutions.
  • Contribute to software architecture, quality, testing and operational reliability.

Kogo poszukujemy?

Candidate Profile
  • Technical skills: Strong hands‑on experience with TypeScript/JavaScript and Node.js.
  • Databases: Practical knowledge of relational DBs (PostgreSQL, MySQL or SQL Server).
  • Architecture: Experience with microservices, system design patterns and API integration.
  • Practices: Clean code, testing, maintainability and security awareness.
  • Mindset: Product‑minded, ownership, ability to drive impact and elevate team quality.
  • Communication: Fluent in English and Polish, open to feedback and mentorship.
  • Availability: Able to work afternoon hours occasionally for US collaboration.
