Senior Java Developer z Niemieckim (Remote)

We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to join a large-scale project within the public sector, focused on developing and maintaining tax-related software systems.

The project involves building and evolving complex, high-availability systems used in a regulated environment. You will work on backend services, system integrations, and participate in maintaining high standards of performance, security, and code quality.

You will join a large, structured team working in an Agile setup, contributing to long-term system development in a complex organizational environment.

🧠 Your responsibilities

• develop and maintain backend applications using Java
• build and extend RESTful APIs
• work with relational databases and ORM frameworks
• collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile environment
• participate in code reviews and ensure high code quality
• support CI/CD processes and work in containerized environments
• perform occasional DevOps-related tasks

🧩 Must haves

• German language at C1 level (fluent written and spoken communication)
• higher education in IT (Bachelor/Master) or equivalent qualification + min. 5 years of experience
• strong experience with Java (Java 8+)
• minimum 5 years of experience working with Git
• experience working with Jira and Confluence
• experience with Linux (terminal-based work)
• experience with OpenShift and Helm (min. 2 years)
• experience with ORM frameworks (e.g. Spring Data, JPA)
• experience with build tools and CI (e.g. Gradle, CI pipelines)
• experience working on large-scale projects (long-term, multi-person teams)

• experience with Spring Boot
• experience in building RESTful services
• experience with testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito)
• experience with databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL)
• basic frontend experience (React, TypeScript)
