The goal is to unlock the full potential of enterprise data using scalable data engineering methods and strong data governance, including quality, metadata, and core management practices.

The Data Office works closely with IT and business teams to build a modern data platform and maintain data pipelines across both cloud and on-prem environments. Data will be a key driver in understanding and meeting customer needs.

We’re looking for someone who gets the fundamentals of Data Engineering - Data Management, DataOps, Security, Architecture, Orchestration and Software Engineering - and knows how to apply them with a focus on scalability, simplicity, agility and cost-efficiency.

What will you do:

• Generation and Capture of Data
• Ingestion of diverse sources of data (structured, semi-structured, unstructured)
• Transformation of source data into useful and value adding data assets
• Serving of data to stakeholders
• Management of storage as an underlying enabler for all the above

• Solid understanding and experience with SQL
• Comfortable working with Python and Data related libraries
• Experience working with JVM languages such as Java or Scala
• Comfortable working on CLI environments such as bash or PowerShell
• Demonstratable experience working with Source Code Management (like GIT)
• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (ideally Azure)
• Experience with data platform technologies and appropriate data formats for data lake implementations and other cloud data platform tools and services
• Be able to communicate with both non-technical and technical people
• Understand how to scope and gather business and product requirements
• Understand the cultural foundations of Agile, DataOps and DevOps
