• ensure the stability and ongoing support of applications,
• manage changes, incidents, and problems in line with company protocols,
• participate in the planning, deployment, and review of system changes,
• perform maintenance tasks, automate processes, and conduct root cause analysis,
• develop and maintain scripts for monitoring system functionality and performance,
• automate tasks through scripting,
• monitor incident queues, troubleshoot issues, and lead cross-functional calls to minimize impact,
• implement code fixes, operational updates, and other maintenance tasks,
• evaluate client-reported issues and provide effective solutions,
• participate in on-call rotation as assigned by the manager,
• collaborate in meetings for Business and IT initiatives,
• develop and maintain scripts,
• ensure 24/7 support for applications and services.

This is a full-time role focused on providing second-line technical support for a variety of Unix-based systems. You will work with Web and API applications built using open-source technologies, such as Unix, Java, Hadoop, Postgres, and NoSQL. In this position, you will be responsible for supporting critical production transaction processing systems, handling millions of transactions daily for some of the leading organizations.

• at least 4 years of professional experience,
• hands-on experience with Production/Application Support,
• proficiency in Unix commands and scripting, with expertise in Web/API technologies and at least one API technology,
• experience in supporting Java applications running in Apache Tomcat, JWS, or similar containers.

• written and verbal communication skills,
• proficiency with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes,
• strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on automation,
• knowledge of ITIL processes, including Change Requests, Incident Management, and Problem Management, with experience using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or equivalent,
• familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CICD) tools like Jenkins, Ansible, or equivalent,
• experience with log analysis tools such as Splunk or similar,
• knowledge of web services like SOAP, REST, and related testing tools such as SoapUI, Postman, or similar,
• advanced knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems and BASH scripting,
• experience with databases such as Oracle, Postgres, or equivalent,
• understanding of networking concepts and protocols,
• experience in the card and transaction domain is a plus,
• familiarity with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Kafka.
